Thousands of years back, the Celts, a grouping of independent clans spread thru much of current day Europe, were complex workmen, carving knot work patterns that have impressed modern day jewelers to form marriage rings. We all know the Celts, like Local folk of North America, viewed the earth itself as well as every aspect of life and death as divine. Rituals were rooted in a particular oak grove or waterfall. Early Celtic leaders even ridiculed human-like pictures of Olympian gods or the wild animals of their vale and forests. Knot work, that has become associated with today's idea of "Celtic" was definitely a kind of holy, creative expression. We are preparing to celebrate our 25th marriage anniversary.
